Friendly Neighborhood Apologetics
45 Minutes
We are commanded to always be prepared to share the hope that is within us, share what we believe and why we believe it. That involves being able to articulate Christianity and share the reasons we can be confident it is true and real. Often, this does not look like standing on a street corner and preaching, but being intentional in conversations with friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers we meet; asking good questions, listening carefully, and articulating our own views, the hope within them, and the reason we can be confident in them. In this talk, I will share practical tools to equip listeners to be friendly neighborhood apologists in their own neighborhoods, engaging neighbors in friendly and intentional conversations, and sharing the hope we have.
A Global God
45 Minutes
What is the purpose of creation? For what end were we as humans created? Most importantly, what does this tell us about God, who we are, and how we ought to live? We can only live the truly fulfilling and purpose-filled life when we know what we were created for and who it was that created us. God has an ambition for the spread of His manifest glory to the ends of the earth, bringing more peoples to know Him and enjoy Him forever. God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him; because He is a global God He is bringing this enjoyment and manifest glory to all nations. This gives us insight on what life is about, who we are, and the God we serve and follow and get to enjoy.
Living on Mission
45 Minutes
What does it look like to obey the Great Commission? Because God is a global God and has a heart for every nation, tribe, and tongue to know His glory and worship His majesty, how do we as take part in His work to reach them, even as we go to school, work a 9-5 job, or live at home? We realize this command is an expectation for all Christians, regardless of age and context. In this talk I will cast vision for living life on this mission wherever one finds themselves, and practical ways to be a part of the work right now!
A World Like His
60 Minutes
What kind of world do we live in? Is this a purely naturalistic world or is this God's world? As I will show, in every part of science - from cosmology to physics, to chemistry, paleontology and biology - even atheistic scientists are admitting the appearance of design - this is a world like God's, but they claim it is just a false impression. However, the better conclusion from the data is that this isn't just a world like His; this is indeed God's world which He created and designed, which we are living in, and thus are subject to His purposes
Evolved or Established?
60 Minutes
Where did life come from? Not only is this a fascinating question, but it is a question that really matters, because where life came from has to do with where we came from, and that has everything to do with who we are, what life is about, and where we are going. Is life simply the product of purely naturalistic processes, with no rhyme or reason, meaning, purpose, or value? Or is life the product of intelligence, meaning there is meaning, there is purpose, and there is value. I will demonstrate the overwhelming problems of neo-Darwinism and the incredible evidence for intelligent design, through molecular biology, genetics, epigenetics, and paleontology, revealing a rapid arrival of complex and diverse life isolated within major kinds from the beginning - which can only be explained by an intelligent designer. Life was established
Escape from a False Faith
45 Minutes
"Why do I follow Jesus?" The answer to that question changes everything. When I follow Jesus because it is what my family does, or out of guilt, or out of fear of Hell, that is reflected in the way we live our life, our Bible reading, our prayer, our church attendance, our worship and more. The reality is, one cannot follow Jesus for these reasons. To truly follow Jesus is to recognize who He is and what He did for me, and to want to be right with Him and know Him. Too often, Christian kids never get past, "It's just what my family does." God will not accept anyone on the basis of what their family did. But what if they followed Jesus for the sake of following Jesus - knowing and walking with the King? When we decide to follow Jesus because we want to know Him and walk with Him, that will be reflected in our Bible reading, our prayer, our church attendance, our worship, and ultimately everything. By acting on the right answer to that question - "Why do I follow Jesus?" - your kids' faith can come alive as they set off to know and walk with their Creator and Savior, rather than possessing a "Christianity" of simply reading a book, giving thanks for meals, and going to a church just because "that's what Christians do."
