ABOUT
ME
I've been told that with a name like "Ash Leatherwood" I should have pursued a career in acting. However, I found something far, far more exciting!

Apologetics is an exciting branch of theology dedicated to giving reasons for what we believe - with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). In other words, apologetics gives the "why" for the "what" of Christianity. Sometimes - and this was indeed the case for me - knowing the reasons for the hope that we have is all that we can hold onto to have hope during times of loss, pain, and confusion. There are strong reasons - evidence - for what we believe: God exists, Jesus actually lived, died on a cross, and rose from the grave three days later. If that is true - and we have strong reasons to believe it is - then we can hold onto the Truth of who God is and what He promises even when going through hard times.

Not only does apologetics help the individual, but it is a key component of evangelism as well - this has been my experience growing up in post-Christian Spain, living in Secular southern California, and sharing the gospel on four different continents. We need to be ready to give the reasons others should believe Christianity and can have hope in Jesus Christ.

It is for this reason I love apologetics! We have so much reason for the hope that we have and should be able to articulate that to our neighbors. Let's become friendly neighborhood apologists in our neighborhoods and share the reason for the great hope that we have!
